  • Delivery timelines? You’re “accountable.”
  • Team morale? You’re expected to absorb that, too.

No job title fully covers what you do.

That “help” never stopped.

Now? I don’t test anymore. I run the sprints, manage delivery, and keep the entire thing moving.
But my brain is still wired like QA.

QA teaches you to catch what breaks.
To slow down and ask the questions others miss.
To protect quality even if it means friction.

PM and Scrum don’t work that way.
They want forward motion. Business value. Fast commits.
They reward velocity, not caution.

And when you come from QA, that shift doesn’t feel natural it feels like sabotage.
You know what corners are being cut.
You see the cracks before they widen.
And you’re the one expected to smile and ship anyway.

That tension doesn’t just stress you out.
It rewires how you see your role and makes every decision feel like a compromise.


☠️ Silent Load, Visible Calm

You don’t complain.
That’s part of the problem.

Because there’s no visible fire, people assume you’re fine.
But what they see is composure, what you feel is depletion.

You’re not breaking down.
You’re eroding quietly, professionally, and with perfect attendance.


🛠️ What Actually Helps (Barely)

There’s no “fix,” but there are pressure valves:

  • Pre-prep your events like rituals
    Not to be perfect—but to buy back control.
  • After every meeting, take 2 minutes
    Brain dump. Write 3 things you won’t act on right now.
  • Normalize saying “I don’t know yet”
    It creates space. You’re not Google. You’re not a prophet.
  • Use templates religiously
    Not for others but for you. Reduce decision fatigue.
  • Set escalation boundaries
    Not everything is your fire to put out. Let things smolder.

This isn’t about title inflation.
It’s about role confusion and responsibility creep.

The hybrid PM/Scrum/QA role isn’t special, it’s exhausting.
